The focal mechanism for this earthquake in Hawaii,
which occurred approximately six minutes after the
MW=6.7 mainshock, differs substantially from that
of the mainshock, which had a near-horizontal axis
of maximum extension (T axis). The CMT solution
below was determined in a joint, two-source inversion
for the focal parameters of both the 2006 10/15 17:07
mainshock and this (2006 10/15 17:14) aftershock.

Here is the solution for the recent event.
