Detailed spatiotempoal distribution of source rupture process.
We analyzed strong ground motion records provided by DAD (ERD) and teleseismic data retrieved form IRIS-DMC through internet. The obtained source process is characterized by an asymmetric bilateral rupture propagation and smooth dislocation motion. The area of major slip is confined to about 70 km x 15 km. The maximum dislocation and the maximum slip-velocity are about 7 m and 2.5 m/s, respectively. The rupture propagated 20km to the west and 50 km to the east. Our results suggest that half of the estimated seismic gap over a range of 200km still remains unruptured. (Yuji Yagi and Masayuki Kikuchi, 1999)
